USA Luge uses certified coaches to
assist with training of athletes in Lake Placid, NY,
Park City, UT, Negaunee, MI, and Muskegon,
MI.
Coaches are required to know the rules of the sport, have
first aid certification, and have certification in the
American Sport Education Program.
Certification Courses
USA Luge offers courses to certify coaches.
USA Luge will reimburse participants for several portions
of the course as noted below. Reimbursement will be
possible only after all components of the course have
been successfully completed, are on file at the USLA and
proof of payment has been submitted.
Fred Zimny,
Manager Recruitment and Development, will be responsible for
compiling the information presented by individuals and will
submit for their reimbursement as necessary.
- Overview of Course Costs
USA Luge Membership $45 (No Reimbursement)
- ASEP Course (American Sport Education Program).
Total course cost $60 (Reimbursement: 50%)
- National Officials Course. Total course cost $25
(Reimbursement: 100%)
- CPR/First Aid. Cost varies (Reimbursement: 50%)
