USA Luge Facility Tours and Rides
on Friday's at 2 PM
In 2016, USA Luge received a commitment from New York State to significantly upgrade their indoor start training facility at a cost of $5 million. The original start ramps were completed in 1991 and featured three different ramp angles which merged into one uphill area to scrub off speed. The old building served its purpose for many years, but the athletes needed longer ramps to get into racing (laying down) position. The other sorely needed improvement was more workspace.
After nine months of construction, the building was completed in early 2020. The new building features two parallel ramps at four different angles, designed to simulate any start angle the team will encounter in World Cup, World Championship and Olympic competition. The team has four work areas to build sleds.
This is your chance to get an exclusive tour of the USA Luge Indoor Start Training Facility. Tours include a ride down the ramp.
