NOTES

"The track in Lake Placid, NY, one of my favorites, offers quite a thrill to those who can get past the initial reputation. Though it's not too fast, it has a lot of tight curves and quick transitions which have made it a thorn in many a sliders' side. Its well-known chicanes are more often than not a roll of the dice, almost always testing an athlete's ability to relax in tight situations. The sporadic and unpredictable weather of the Northeast does not help the cause and often produces some of the sketchiest ice conditions in the sliding world. It is always a great stop on tour, biased as I may be. The small, snow globe-esque town has a great atmosphere and offers plenty to make the week-long stop enjoyable and memorable."
