SafeSport & Athlete Safety
Preventing Sexual Misconduct and Abuse in Luge
The safety and well-being of athletes is of primary concern for USA Luge, and we all play a role in helping to stop misconduct and abuse in sport – one of those ways is by reporting any allegation of misconduct to USA Luge, the US Center For SafeSport, and/or the authorities. The information here is meant to direct you on where to report any suspected abuse or misconduct. Please know that while you have a responsibility to report any suspected misconduct, you to not need to investigate the situation and try to get ‘all the information’ in order to submit a report – share what you know and allow others to dig deeper if necessary. Please use the following resources to learn more about how we can all collectively work to prevent sexual abuse and misconduct in the sport of luge.

USA Luge Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP)
The MAAPP is a collection of proactive prevention and training policies aimed to help prevent the abuse and misconduct of Minor Athlete. It has four primary components:
The MAAPP contains the mandatory minimum standards for education and training, organizational requirements, and prevention policies that the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, National Governing Bodies and Local Affiliated Organizations must implement. USA Luge has had a MAAPP in place for a number of years, but some adjustments have been made in 2025 to keep current with best parcices in this area.
