LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Earlier today, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) named Salt Lake City, Utah, the host city for the 2034 Winter Games.

USA Luge CEO Scott Riewald shares the following thoughts related to this announcement:

USA Luge celebrates today’s exciting announcement of bringing the Winter Games home to the United States with our athletes, members, and fans! From the awesome experience of the 2002 Winter Games to the plans for 2034, this is truly an exciting time for winter sport. Utah has been remarkable in their support of our organization, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with those at the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, the Utah Sports Commission, the SLC-UT 2034 Organizing Committee, the USOPC, the National Governing Body and others. We are eager to get back to Utah to celebrate the 2034 Winter Games, and USA Luge will be ready to welcome the world to our home! We also congratulate the France Alps for being awarded the 2030 Winter Games.

The nine-circuit World Cup season will kick-off in Lillehammer, Norway, November 29-December 1, 2024, with the 53rd World Championships scheduled for February 6-9, 2025, in Whistler, Canada.
